After a lot of trial and error,
It's exactly like the real life NZT-48
Wow! Modafinil is just like magic!
While none of these guys will ever outright say "it will fix all of your problems", when you read their writing that is exactly the message that jumps out at you.
The approach that I've adopted (and suggest that you adopt as well) is the mindset that Modafinil is just a tool* in your arsenal.
(albeit a very powerful one)
Imagine yourself as a general going to war. You have all these tools at your disposal and you are responsible for intelligently using them to reach the end goal of destroying the enemy. If you were to only use your tanks, while neglecting all the other tools at your disposal (infantrymen, bombers, special forces units, ammunition, supplies), would you be putting yourself in the best possible position to succeed? Hell no.
(The analogy isn't perfect, but it gets my point across.)
Replace the tanks with Modafinil and the end goal with living the most rewarding, fruitful productive life possible.
Everything else you do in addition to popping the pill is going to play a significant factor in your productivity. I'm going to outline some practices I do that significantly boost my overall mood, happiness, and level of satisfaction with my work. This list does not contain any mindset changes*. It is made up of physical actionable steps that you can implement today to get instant noticeable results.
*(although those do have their place)
1. Carry a decent sized water bottle with you everywhere you go
This is at the top of my list for a reason. It's so underrated and so easy to overlook but makes such a difference for me. Everyone knows that drinking water is important, but its especially more important when you're taking Modafinil.
This stuff really has a tendency to dehydrate you so if you're not used to drinking a lot on a regular basis, you're going to have to force yourself to drink. When you're taking caffeine or sodas on top of it, you need to drink even more to make up for it.
If you feel lightheaded or foggy minded while you're dosing, that's a green light that you need to DRINK MORE WATER ASAP.
On days that I dose, I aim to drink a gallon or two a day, spread out intermittently throughout the day. I have a life and I can't be bothered to get up every 5 seconds to get a drink.
Buy a high quality water bottle that you can carry around that is large enough that you don't have to refill it every 10 minutes, but small enough that its not a hassle to carry around. If you're going to be using it on the regular, and want to avoid drinking all the nasty shit in plastic along with your water, it should be BPA free.
I have one very similar to this one and I like it a lot because its sleek and the insulation allows me to put ice in it and keep it cold all day long.
2. Clean up your diet
It's an undeniable fact that if you eat shit, you will feel like shit. If I were to give you a Ferrari, drop the keys in your lap, and tell you its all yours, how would you go about treating it?
Would you put cheap gasoline into your Ferrari? Common sense would dictate that one would pay the extra dollar to load it up with high quality fuel.
When you begin to treat your body and mind like the engine of a finely tuned sports car, you're not going to put shitty fuel into it, because you know that it is going to have a big impact on its performance.
When you're in a food induced coma from poor nutrition, you're placing a ceiling over your head on the effectiveness of any drugs or supplements that you take.
Now I'm not your mommy and nobody is going to babysit you to eat clean.
You're going do what you want to do.
I had originally considered leaving this point out, but it has such an impact that it would have been silly of me to not mention it.
If you invest in a Costco membership, you can buy high quality food in bulk at super low prices, so there's really no excuse.
3. Supplement with caffeine in small doses throughout the day
I like to sip on black coffee throughout the day on days that I dose to keep my edge at 100%. Here's what I'm not recommending you do:
- Slamming high sugar energy drinks like Monster or Full Throttle
- Drinking more than a cup or two of coffee over the course of an hour
- Using any sort of pre-workout formula meant for athletic performance
Another useful alternative to coffee is caffeine pills. No more having to waste time brewing coffee or carrying it around with you wherever you go. The great thing about caffeine pills are they work great and they're cheaper than dirt.
I prefer the 100 mg pills by Jet-Alert. They get the job done for me. If you're going to be popping caffeine pills its very important that you look at the dosage.
Keep in mind that Modafinil will potentiate the effects of any additional stimulants that you put in your body so a little bit goes a long way. The Jet-Alert pills I linked to are dosed at 100 mg, which is plenty good. Don't bother buying anything higher than 100 mg, its just not worth it.
If you feel like your current dosage is inadequate, you can always take more, but if you take too much in one go you are fucked until it wears off.
Don't be an idiot. Start small and work your way up.
4. Start juicing to improve blood flow, clarity of thought, and drastically improve well being
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of juicing, what you're basically doing is extracting all of the liquids or juices out of various vegetables and mixing them together so you can get all the nutritional benefits in an easy to drink cup of juice rather than having to sit down and eat a bunch of unappetizing vegetables.
When I had first heard about juicing, I was pretty quick to dismiss it as some hippy bullshit that was all hype. When I heard the news that UFC fighters like Jon Jones and Mark Munoz and highly successful people such as Joe Rogan were juicing and all the benefits they were receiving from it, I figured I'd give it a try.
After a month of juicing and watching the changes that took place in my body and energy levels, I was absolutely blown away. Here's a list of benefits that I've observed:
- Improved blood flow.
- Need only 6 or 7 hours of sleep and feel amazing. Whereas before I would still feel groggy on 8 hours of sleep
- Improved skin complexion (I've always had good skin, but after juicing for a while, it has this glow and energy to it that wasn't there before)
- Sex drive on another level (was moderately high to begin with, but went through the roof with juicing)
- Feel more vibrant and energetic
- Lowered blood cortisol levels and increased testosterone (confirmed from blood test)
- Joints feel better (used to have creaky elbows from doing heavy sets of skullcrushers in the gym. I still do them, but my elbows feel A LOT better now)
- Significantly improved recovery from exercise, need less rest
Selecting a juicer:
The general rule of thumb for buying a juicer is YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The higher priced juicers generally extract more juice out of whatever you put in it. There are all sorts of juicers out there and people love to argue about the trivial differences between them and why one is better than the other. The one that I use is the Hamilton Beach 67608 Big Mouth Juice Extractor.
It will cost you around 70 bucks and you get free shipping on it. I've had mine for 4 months now and it still works as if I bought it yesterday. It's also super easy to clean, which is a big bonus.
If you have a larger budget to spend and are committed to juicing on the regular, I would recommend the Breville BJE510XL Juice Fountain Multi-Speed 900-Watt Juicer.
I have used this one on several occasions and I've noticed the increased volume of juice that I can get out of it, especially on leafy vegetables such as kale. If you are juicing on the regular, you will save money in the long run by opting for the higher end juicers because of the increased output you get out of your veggies.
There are so many different variations and an infinite number of combinations with juicing. It can really seem overwhelming if you're just trying to get into it. The recipe I'm going to provide below is guaranteed to do the following:
- Dramatic increase in blood flow
- Improved clarity of thought
- High volume of blood pumped to the sex organs (works just like Cialis)
- Cleans up your digestive system
- More energy and greater positive outlook on life overall
ModafinilExpert's Brain Booster Juicing Recipe:
- 1 beet (cut off the green stem)
- 3 or 4 carrots
- 1 lemon (peel the lemon)
- 1 apple
- 1/2" ginger
The beets have a strong vasodilatation effect (it "opens up" your blood vessels, allowing more blood to pump through) so any supplements or food that you take will be absorbed into your system better.
If you're a beginner, I would recommend using any more than 1 beet at a time to start off with. For me, the effect it has on my body is literally just like Cialis.
The body will convert the nitrates in the beets intro nitric oxide in the blood, thereby opening up your blood vessels. If you don't mind the bitter earthy taste of the beets, you can just drink it straight.
Adding lemon will neutralize the bitter taste of the beets, and the apples will add a sweet flavor to it. If you want your drink to be sweeter, just add more apples.
The take home message I want to leave you with is that when it comes to your productivity and overall well being, Modafinil a piece in the puzzle and not the end all be all that a lot of these Internet marketers well have you believe.
Modafinil is my #1 recommendation and I stand by that with my reputation on the line.
That being said, all of these other minor tweaks that I've made in my lifestyle habits have added up to make a significant difference over time. I encourage you to start looking at your mind and body as a system and adopt an approach that covers all angles at making that system run optimally, rather than having tunnel vision and being too fixated on any singular method or routine that you've been over and over.
